Mesa Grande runs 12.1 miles with 48 bends in a distinctive three-part shape: switchbacks climbing to the mesa top, a long straight across the plateau with enough sightline to see well ahead, then more tight turns on the way back down — the steepest grade in this batch at 8.8%. Pavement quality is good, kept up in part by the reservation land it crosses, though sand and gravel wash onto the road after rain.
