Dead Indian Memorial Road: Ashland to the Cascade-Siskiyou
36 miles between Ashland and the Cascade-Siskiyou area, one of the oldest trans-Cascade travel routes in southern Oregon, climbing through Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest toward the Upper Klamath Basin. Wide, open, sustained curves rather than tight technical work.

Planning the drive
This is one of the oldest trans-Cascade travel routes in southern Oregon, connecting Ashland and the Rogue River Valley with the Upper Klamath Basin. 67 counted bends over 36.4 miles at a 1.8 per mile density makes this a wide, open, sustained-curve road rather than a tight technical one — well suited to a car with real power, since there's room to actually use it between corners. Combined with Highway 66 back into Ashland, this forms one of the classic southern Oregon driving loops — Hyatt Prairie Road cuts across between the two if you want to shorten it rather than doing a long out-and-back on either road alone.
